When reality bites… the ballot.
What Happened
A voting group crucial for winning the LA mayor election is reportedly favoring reality TV personality Spencer Pratt. This unexpected twist suggests a unique demographic influence could play a significant role in the upcoming election.
Our Take
Alright, alright, settle down folks! You know, I thought I’d seen it all. I thought I’d reached peak absurdity. And then, THEN I read this headline: ‘Voting group that’s key to unlocking LA mayor election victory — and it favors Spencer Pratt.’ Spencer Pratt! The man, the myth, the legend… of ‘The Hills’! I mean, remember when the biggest political scandal was a forgotten email server? Now we’re talking about a voting demographic that’s apparently being swayed by someone who once tried to make a career out of crystals and being generally enigmatic. What is even happening?!
I pictured the scene: a serious political analyst, poring over demographic data, pie charts, bar graphs… and then, he just slams his fist on the table and screams, ‘It’s the *Pratt* vote! The pivot point! The *crystal* clear path to victory!’ Is this what democracy looks like now? Is it going to be less about policy debates and more about who can get the most Instagram likes on their campaign trail smoothie?
I’m just imagining the campaign slogans: ‘Spencer Pratt: He knows what’s real…ity TV!’ Or ‘Make LA Sparkle Again!’ What are the campaign promises? Free avocado toast for everyone? A direct line to the universe via his personal psychic? And what about the actual, serious issues facing a major city? ‘Don’t worry about traffic, I’ve manifested an open road!’ ‘Homelessness? We’ll just put crystals under all the bridges, it’ll be fine!’
Honestly, at this point, if Spencer Pratt becomes mayor, I’m just going to assume we’ve all been living in a very elaborate, long-form performance art piece. And I’m here for it. Kind of. Maybe. Help me.
💬 “He’s got the momentum!” — 💬 “My life is a lie.” — 💬 “Woof for Mayor!”
